Mobile assessments for colleges: what phones can do, and what still needs a computer
Students can sit compatible Campus assessments on a phone — MCQ, true/false, short and long answers — with standard proctoring. Coding stays on a computer.

A placement cell that pretends every student has a quiet laptop will lose attendance. A placement cell that pretends a phone can run a full coding round will lose integrity and fairness.
The accurate split is by question format.
What mobile delivery supports
Enable mobile delivery for a compatible Campus assessment. Students can:
- Join by code
- Complete MCQ, multi-select, true/false, short-answer, and long-answer questions
- Review responses
- Submit
Standard proctoring follows the assessment’s configured policy.

What requires a computer
Coding and other desktop-only question formats need a computer. Mobile delivery does not make every format or every monitoring mode available on a phone.
If a paper mixes aptitude and coding, you have three honest options:
- Two sittings (phone-friendly section, then lab coding)
- Computer-only for the whole paper
- Drop coding from that mock
Do not hide a coding section behind a mobile invite.

How Edgeryt Campus describes this
The public product facts match the bullets above. Feature access still depends on plan. Ask for a demo if device support for your exact formats is a go-live requirement.
The public website is fine on phones. That is not the same statement as “every assessment is mobile.”
Adjacent area: labs and BYOD
College labs are still the fairest coding venue for many campuses. BYOD coding at home needs a stricter identity and monitoring policy, and a review queue. See integrity review.
Questions teams ask
Can students install an app and skip email?
They join compatible assessments by code from the invitation you send. Coding still needs a desktop sitting.
Can we invigilate mobile tests?
You can configure standard proctoring per policy. A flag is a prompt for review.
Will this work for Hire candidates too?
Hire’s public site notes that assessment device support should be confirmed on a demo. This article is about Campus.
